Branson, Missouri – Low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines started new service yesterday to Branson (BKG) from Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Dallas Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW). To celebrate the start of this new low-cost service, Frontier is offering special introductory fare sales of $29* to Dallas (DFW) and $39* to Chicago (ORD) at FlyFrontier.com.
Branson Airport and Frontier Airlines are responding to the growing Branson tourism market increasing seats by 360% this year. The added seat capacity brings with it an estimated $25 million in visitor spending. Also contributing this year are more weekly nonstop flights to Denver, which started April 13.
Branson Airport officials report over 15 full-time positions were created this year to accommodate the rise in commercial air service, spurred on by Frontier Airlines new nonstop flights to Chicago and Dallas.
Frontier Airlines service at Branson Airport will be provided on one of the industry’s youngest fleets of the popular jetliner, the Airbus A320 NEO, 186 passenger jet aircraft. With nearly 200 new Airbus planes on order, Frontier will continue to grow to deliver on the mission of providing affordable travel across America. Frontier’s young fleet also ensures that the company keeps fares low and that customers enjoy a pleasant and reliable experience.
This month, Branson Airport will celebrate 10 years of serving the destination. Since opening, approximately 1.2 million passengers have flown through the airport, with a regional economic impact of $285 million (Study by MoDOT and updated by Seidman Research Institute Arizona State University).
